We, the undersigned, are calling for the immediate investigation and closure of Rotts of Friends Animal 43 Rescue in Woodland, California, due to ongoing reports of misconduct, deception, and the unlawful withholding of family pets.

On January 22, 2026, our family’s 3‑year‑old Rottweiler, Lilith, went missing. After days of searching, community members and the Stockton animal shelter informed us of her location. Witnesses confirmed that Lilith had been picked up and dropped off at Rotts of Friends Animal 43 Rescue. Despite this, the facility repeatedly denied having her, refused transparency, and obstructed our attempts to recover our dog.

Multiple witnesses identified Lilith at the rescue, including seeing her in a crate with a pink blanket. When we arrived at the facility, staff delayed letting us in, refused to allow family members to accompany us, prohibited us from recording while recording us themselves, and ultimately claimed Lilith was never there. Their behavior raised serious concerns that Lilith was intentionally hidden or moved to another location before we were allowed inside.

This is not an isolated incident. Numerous community members have reported similar experiences with this facility — including dogs being withheld, owners being misled, and pets being taken under false pretenses. These actions harm families, violate trust, and put animals at risk.

We are demanding:

• A full investigation into Rotts of Friends Animal 43 Rescue
• Immediate suspension of their operations during the investigation
• Accountability for the unlawful withholding of pets
• Protection for families and animals in our community
• Permanent closure of the facility if wrongdoing is confirmed

No rescue should operate without transparency, honesty, and respect for both animals and their rightful owners. Families deserve better. Our pets deserve better. Our community deserves better.
