Petition to Save Ms. Gabby: Keep Our Beloved Bus Driver & School Aide in the Goshen School
The Issue
To the Goshen Central School District Board of Education and Administration:
We, the undersigned parents, students, neighbors, and community members of the Goshen School District, are writing to urgently request that the district reconsider and stop the firing of our beloved bus driver and school aide, Gabrielle 'Ms. Gabby' Bardeguez.
Ms. Gabby is far more than just an employee; she is a vital, irreplaceable pillar of our children’s daily lives and school community. Serving the Goshen School system with dedication as both a safe driver and a supportive school aide, she goes above and beyond every single day to ensure our kids feel safe, seen, and valued.
Why Ms. Gabby Matters to Our Community:
An Exceptional Environment: Ms. Gabby masterfully creates a bus environment that is simultaneously fun, engaging, exciting, and calming. For many children, the school bus can be a source of anxiety, but Ms. Gabby transforms it into a sanctuary of joy.
Going Above and Beyond: She turns ordinary school days into magical milestones. From daily music that brightens their mornings to holiday parties, fun games, and dressing up for Halloween, she injects pure joy into our children's routines.
A Core Part of the School Day: For many of our children, "the bus" is their absolute favorite part of the entire day, solely because of Ms. Gabby. The bond she shares with the kids is so strong that multiple students have expressed they don't even want to take the bus if Ms. Gabby isn't the one driving.
A school district thrives when it employs individuals who truly care about the emotional well-being and safety of its students. Ms. Gabby represents the absolute best of Goshen. Removing her from her route and her role as an aide would cause unnecessary distress to the children who rely on her daily stability and warmth.
We stand with Ms. Gabby. We strongly urge the administration to listen to the community, value the voices of the students, and reverse the decision to terminate her employment.
