Kaimhill Library in Garthdee is one of six libraries earmarked for closure by Aberdeen City Council to help the local authority save £280,000.

The library is due to close for the last time on Thursday, 30 March 2023.

Other affected communities have launched campaigns to save their libraries in Ferryhill, Cults, Cornhill, Northfield and Woodside. It's about time there was a petition for Kaimhill Library which is well-loved by those of us who use it.

Libraries are community hubs and say something about us as a society. They connect people to information and connect people to people. Kaimhill Library is a vital community resource in Garthdee that should be fought for. If it closes, the Council won't bring it back.
