The Issue

To the Government of Singapore, HDB, and Members of Parliament,

We, the undersigned Singaporeans, respectfully request a review of the current minimum age requirement of 35 years for single citizens to purchase HDB flats under existing schemes.

Many Singaporeans today face changing social and economic circumstances. Some individuals remain single by choice, while others may experience divorce, widowhood, caregiving responsibilities, or other life situations that make independent housing a necessity before the age of 35.

We believe that:

* Affordable housing should be accessible to Singaporeans based on need rather than marital status alone.
* Earlier access to housing can provide greater stability and independence.
* Housing policies should evolve to reflect the changing demographics and realities of modern Singapore.

We respectfully request that the Government consider:

1. Lowering the minimum age requirement for single Singaporeans.
2. Conducting a public consultation on the housing needs of singles.
3. Introducing more flexible housing options for younger single citizens.

By signing this petition, we express our support for a review of the current policy and encourage constructive dialogue on this issue.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned Citizens of Singapore
