We, the undersigned, are concerned individuals who stand for integrity, fairness, and responsibility in journalism. We believe in the power of media as a force for good, capable of bringing communities together, enlightening the public, and fostering understanding across diverse groups. However, it is with deep concern that we address an issue that has, in our view, compromised these values within the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRF) - the conduct and reporting by Susanne Brunner.

Susanne Brunner, a journalist at SRF, has been a subject of concern for her reporting and public statements that many perceive as biased, unfairly critical of Israel, and, by some accounts, crossing into antisemitism. Such actions not only tarnish the reputation of SRF as a trusted news source but also contribute to spreading division and misunderstanding, counter to the principles of responsible journalism.

Our concerns are as follows:

Biased Reporting: Reports suggest that Ms. Brunner's coverage of Israel and related topics has consistently displayed a lack of balance, failing to provide the context necessary for a fair and comprehensive understanding of complex issues.
Impact on Community Relations: The nature of Ms. Brunner's reporting has, we believe, the potential to harm relations between different communities, fostering a divisive rather than inclusive narrative.
Contradiction of Journalistic Standards: Journalism should strive to inform the public with integrity and objectivity. When reporting fails to meet these standards, it undermines the profession and the media outlet's credibility.

In light of these concerns, we respectfully call on SRF to:

Conduct a thorough review of Susanne Brunner’s reporting and public statements to assess their alignment with the highest standards of journalistic integrity and objectivity.
Consider the impact of her work on community relations and the public trust in SRF.

Take appropriate action based on this review, including reconsideration of her employment, to ensure that SRF remains a source of unbiased, respectful, and uniting journalism.
