Petition to Return Baby the Deer to His Loving Family

Petition to Return Baby the Deer to His Loving Family
The Issue
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned and outraged by the recent actions taken by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PAGC) regarding the seizure of a beloved pet deer named “Baby” from his family in Fayette County.
The Facts:
• Baby has been part of this family for over three years, treated with love and care, vaccinated, and even given an identification card, proving responsible ownership.
• The family was unexpectedly visited by agents from the PAGC, who, despite Baby being registered with the state, decided to take Baby away.
• The owner was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct simply for trying to protect her pet from being taken.
Our Concerns:
• Lack of Justification: There was no apparent risk to public safety or the environment posed by Baby; he was well-cared for and not a threat.
• Seizure: The agents acted without legal due process and possible personal vendetta against the owners.
• Excessive Use of Power: The arrest of the owner for defending her pet seems like an abuse of authority and an overreach by the PAGC.
What We Demand:
1. Immediate Return of Baby: We call for Baby to be returned to his family, who have shown they can responsibly care for him.
2. Review of PAGC Policies: An investigation into the PAGC’s policies and procedures regarding the handling of domesticated wildlife, ensuring they act within the bounds of the law and with respect for individual rights.
3. Dropping of Charges: The charges against the owner for obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct should be dropped, acknowledging that she was protecting her pet from what appeared to be an unjust seizure.
4. Transparency and Accountability: We demand transparency in how decisions are made regarding wildlife, particularly when it involves domesticated animals, and accountability for actions that infringe upon the rights of Pennsylvania citizens.
Join Us:By signing this petition, you stand with the community in advocating for justice, compassion, and the right of individuals to care for animals they’ve nurtured and loved. Let’s ensure that Baby returns home where she belongs, and that such incidents do not happen in the future under the guise of conservation or legal authority.
