To: The Management of The City School

We, the undersigned parents of The City School students, respectfully request the management to reconsider the decision to make Friday a regular weekly holiday and reduce the academic week to four days.

Our concern is not simply about having Friday off. It is about the impact of fitting a five-day academic structure into four days.

The curriculum and learning requirements remain the same, which raises genuine concerns that children may face longer or more intensive school days, increased homework, and greater academic pressure during the remaining four days.

A regular five-day school week also provides children with an important sense of routine, consistency and discipline. A three-day break every week may disrupt this rhythm, particularly for younger students, while potentially shifting more academic responsibility from the classroom to the home.

Most importantly, education should not become a matter of completing the same curriculum in less time. Children need adequate classroom time to learn, understand, interact with teachers and participate in activities without unnecessary pressure.

We therefore request The City School management to:

1. Reconsider the Friday holiday and maintain the five-day academic week.
   Ensure that students' workload and homework are not increased as a consequence of fewer school days.
   Share the academic rationale for this change with parents and allow meaningful parent consultation before making such a significant change permanent.
   We value The City School and its commitment to our children's education. It is precisely for this reason that we are collectively requesting the management to reconsider this decision in the best academic and developmental interests of the students.
