If the Super Bowl halftime show taught us anything, it is that the person most committed to unity in America might just be Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican global superstar whose message continues to center on love, unity, inclusivity, and bringing people together.

The show was a celebration of all the cultures in America, all of America. It was one of the first times in more than a year that a major American, and worldwide, broadcast event preached unity, respect, love, acceptance, and showcased a celebration of diverse cultures.

Jokes aside, America is the most divided it has been in decades. Anyone familiar with its history knows what happened in 1861, and that must never be allowed to happen again. Civic participation matters. Stay informed, hold your elected officials accountable for their decisions, review their voting records, and make sure your representatives are truly serving the interests of your communities.
