We, the undersigned students, parents, alumni, faculty, and community members, respectfully urge immediate action to renovate and restore the field and stadium at Duval High School.

For years, Duval’s field and stadium have been in disrepair—posing not only a safety risk to students but also undermining school spirit, athletic excellence, and community pride. While surrounding schools benefit from modern, updated facilities, Duval High School continues to be overlooked despite repeated requests from students, coaches, and the community.

Why This Matters:

⚠️ Unsafe Conditions: The current field is uneven, poorly maintained, and lacks adequate drainage. This increases the risk of injury for athletes and students.

🏈 Athletic Disadvantage: Duval teams are forced to play on a substandard field that puts them at a competitive disadvantage.

🎓 School Spirit & Pride: A proper stadium reflects our school’s values, inspires student engagement, and strengthens our identity.

🏘️ Community Use: A renovated field would benefit the entire community—offering a clean, safe space for youth sports, outdoor events, and fitness activities.

We’re Asking For:

1. Immediate assessment and transparent report on the current conditions of the field and stadium.

2. Allocation of funding for full renovation, including resurfacing, new bleachers, improved lighting, fencing, and upgraded restrooms.

3. A clear project timeline and inclusion of student and community voices in the planning process.

Duval High School deserves the same level of respect, investment, and opportunity as other schools in the county. Let’s invest in our youth, honor our history, and take pride in our future.
