Petition to Remove the Eurovision 2025 Mascot ‘Lumo’

Petition to Remove the Eurovision 2025 Mascot ‘Lumo’

The Issue

We, the fans of Eurovision, express our dissatisfaction with the official mascot of the 2025 contest – the character ‘Lumo’. We believe that its appearance and concept do not align with the spirit of Eurovision and divert attention from the main focus – the music and the artists.

Our main arguments:

  1. Mismatch with the show’s aesthetics. The visual style of Eurovision 2025 incorporates modern, vibrant elements typical of a music festival, yet the mascot ‘Lumo’ does not fit this concept. It looks more like a cartoon character for children rather than a symbol of one of the world’s biggest music events.

  2. Unappealing and poorly designed. A large portion of the fans reacted negatively to the mascot’s appearance. It looks strange, fails to evoke associations with music, energy, and creativity, and instead resembles an unrecognizable creature unrelated to the competition’s theme
  3. The focus should be on music, not on a fictional character. Eurovision is a contest for singers, composers, and performers. We would prefer that the organizers focus their efforts on enhancing the music show rather than promoting a mascot that adds no real value to the core idea of the festival.

Based on the above, we request that the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the organizers of Eurovision 2025 reconsider their decision to introduce the mascot ‘Lumo’ and either replace it with a more suitable symbol or abandon the mascot concept entirely for this year.

Sign this petition if you agree that Eurovision 2025 deserves a different mascot or no mascot at all!
