According to Shane Pricketts facebook page he states that he has been demoted from the Chief of Police. It appears at this time he is still a police officer for the City of Florence. 

It is believed that the cause for the demotion may have something to do with a recent city council meeting in executive session. The executive session was requested due to the city seeking legal guidance towards a threat of legal action from Shane Prickett to the City of Florence over a Cops Grant. 

The Cops grant was awarded to the City of Florence and over $50,000 of that grant was expended but it is unclear on what exactly the money was used for or for what the grant was intended for.
