Scratch has always been a big part of my childhood, especially since Elementary School. It allowed me to express my ideas, share my art, and create small games for people to see. I have made a lot of friends who share the same interests and ideas with me. Looking at the website now just brings me pure disappointment. On the updated TOS, it mentions using our usage on Scratch to improve their new Generative AI system. Scratch isn’t going to use Generative AI to generative images, it’s more of an extension to help kids to code. Which to me I feel like that’s kind of useless since there’s thousands upon thousands of videos online by REAL humans that teach you how to code. Generative AI is harmful for the planet, it doesn’t get its information like magic, it goes through many databases and resources. By accepting Scratch’s new TOS, you accepting it using your activity and your projects you share to improve the AI, this does include people’s art they have shared. Scratch was one of the only websites that I felt safe from AI, real human creations. All of the hard work I've spent sharing my projects, and sharing my art, all fed into AI, what a disappointment.

We need a change. We need to fight against Generative AI. We need to protect human creativity at all costs.

I hope to get at least 1,000 signatures, hopefully more to help reach out to Scratch Team about this problem. Us scratchers want change, and we want it now.

Generative AI is a souless invention created to remove human creativity, but us humans will always fight back. Our hard work does not deserve to be fed into these souless machines, who's with me?
