We, the students of Eureka City Schools, petition the School Board of Eureka City Schools to remove Fred Van Vleck from his position as our district’s superintendent. 

There is considerable evidence demonstrating Van Vleck’s failure to create a positive, safe, and comfortable learning environment for the students and staff of Eureka City Schools. 

Van Vleck has also committed dereliction of his duties as superintendent, neglecting to provide teachers with suitable classroom resources and leaving them unsupported.

Given recent and previous events, Van Vleck has abused his management powers over his staff- slandering them and unfairly treating them to the point of their resignation. He has restricted staff from their first amendment right to freedom of expression and used his position to bully employees. 

Stand with the students, teachers, parents, and staff of Eureka City Schools as we pursue a brighter future with new administration.
