Petition to Reinstate Jad Abuhamda After Unfair Expulsion

The Issue

Jad's mother, who is a Palestinian woman, expressed her opinion about the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza on her personal social media account. This resulted in members of the Pine Crest Community taking her posts out of context and twisting their meaning, making the posts seem hateful. Jad's mother was then fired from her position as a tutor in the Pine Crest Learning Network. While the firing of Jad's mother is unjust, that is not what this petition is about. Shockingly, Jad was  expelled after his mother was fired. He was expelled simply for being his mother's son. Jad has never caused any conflict at school, nor has he expressed his opinion on global or political events. He has never posted anything controversial on social media. Jad was given no opportunity to defend himself or present any evidence in his favor - a clear violation of his rights as a student. Jad has done nothing but keep his grades up, engage in campus activities, and maintain good relationships with his peers. Jad's expulsion poses a major threat to his future, including his academic record, college applications, and career prospects. Jad is completely innocent. He is a model student and is loved by his peers. He demonstrates compassion for fellow students and provides support and encouragement to those who need it most. The Pine Crest community is better with Jad in it. We encourage the Pine Crest administration to reverse its decision and immediately reinstate Jad Abuhamda. All students deserve equal treatment and opportunities regardless of their race, religion, or national background.
