El Al Israel Airlines is currently considering restoring two additional routes, and Toronto is one of only 7 cities being considered.
This is a real chance to bring back direct flights between Tel Aviv and Toronto, which many of us rely on for family trips, business, school, and travel.
 
But El Al won’t do it unless they see that the public cares.

Dear El Al Management,

I am writing on behalf of many members of the Jewish and Israeli communities in Canada to urge El Al to reconsider its decision to suspend direct flights between Toronto and Tel Aviv.

The Impact:
Since the cancellation of this route in October 2022, thousands of Canadians have been affected. Families are struggling to visit loved ones, elderly passengers face difficult layovers, and students, business travelers, and spiritual pilgrims are now forced to use foreign carriers that often cancel or change flights without notice. The once-reliable link between Toronto and Israel is gone—and with it, a sense of safety, convenience, and national connection that only El Al could provide.

What’s at Stake:
If this route is not reinstated, the growing disconnect between Canadian Jews and their homeland will only deepen. This is not merely about air travel—it's about maintaining cultural and familial ties, supporting those who need access to Israel during life’s most critical moments, and honoring the loyalty of a community that supported El Al for over four decades. The Toronto–Tel Aviv route was profitable, well-utilized, and widely appreciated. Bringing it back would reaffirm El Al’s historic mission: to serve as a bridge for the Jewish people, no matter where they live.

Why Now:
We understand the aviation industry faced unprecedented challenges during COVID-19. But now, with global travel recovering and demand for direct Israel flights growing stronger than ever, the time is right to reestablish this essential route. We are ready to support it with our voices, our wallets, and our loyalty.

We kindly ask that El Al demonstrate its commitment to Jews in the diaspora—especially in a time when reliable access to Israel is more important than ever. Please bring back the Toronto–Tel Aviv flight. We stand ready to help make it a success once again.
