Dear Dean Hanning and the faculty of the Wells School of Music,

Over the past week, concerns regarding the recently reinstated Dr. Van Stiefel have come to light courtesy of former student Mina Santiago. The statement released by the university was unsatisfactory in addressing these concerns, as Stiefel has yet to be relieved of his position as a professor at the Wells School of Music. We would like these concerns regarding Dr. Stiefel to be addressed in a more adequate and concrete manner than what was used in the university’s statement and for Dr. Stiefel’s employment status at the university to be reconsidered.
