We, the undersigned residents and homeowners of Greens at Carolina, strongly oppose the proposed redevelopment of the Carolina Golf Course into residential apartments and townhomes.

Our Reasons for Opposition:

Preservation of Property Values
The open green space provided by the golf course has been a major factor in maintaining and increasing our property values.

High-density residential construction will likely decrease home values by increasing congestion, reducing green space, and altering the character of our community.

Quality of Life & Community Character
The golf course provides scenic views, recreational opportunities, and a sense of tranquility that benefits all residents.

Converting the course into high-density housing is inconsistent with the established character of our neighborhood.

Traffic & Infrastructure Strain
Hundreds of new apartments/condos will add significant traffic to our already crowded roads.

Increased demand will strain schools, emergency services, and other local infrastructure.

Environmental Concerns
The golf course land provides green space that absorbs water and helps with stormwater management — critical in flood-prone South Florida.

Redevelopment could worsen flooding, increase pollution runoff, and reduce tree canopy and wildlife habitat.

Community Trust & Governance
When we purchased our homes, the golf course was an integral part of the community’s design and appeal.

Redevelopment of this land violates the expectations of homeowners who relied on the existing land use when making their investments.
Our Request

We respectfully urge the City of Margate and Broward County Commission, local zoning boards, and our homeowners’ associations to deny any rezoning or redevelopment applications that would allow the golf course to be replaced by residential apartments or condominiums.

We request that the Carolina Golf Course land remain dedicated to recreational, green space, or other community-friendly uses consistent with the original intent of our neighborhood design.
