We, the undersigned citizens, stand firmly against HB 533. This bill promotes the destruction of human life and disregards God’s authority over creation. It is a dangerous attempt to normalize practices that violate both biblical truth and enable the use of abortifacient birth control methods that end the lives of preborn children.

Why We Oppose HB 533:

• Abortifacient Nature of Contraceptives: Many contraceptives, including emergency contraceptives and hormonal birth control, can act as abortifacients by preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg. This is the intentional murder of a human life at its earliest stage. HB 533 falsely promotes these methods as harmless, disregarding the loss of precious preborn lives. Scripture teaches that every life is formed by God and is precious (Jeremiah 1:5).
  
  
• Life Begins at Fertilization: Every human life begins at fertilization and is precious in the eyes of God (Psalm 139:13-16). IVF and other fertility treatments often result in the destruction of embryos, which are human lives. Additionally, many forms of birth control supported by HB 533 act as abortifacients, preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg and ending a human life. This bill encourages these practices with no regard for the lives lost.
  
  
• Defiance of God’s Design: God has ordained marriage as the sacred covenant for bearing and raising children (Genesis 1:28). HB 533 undermines this design by endorsing artificial reproductive methods that commodify life. It further promotes the widespread use of contraceptives that act as abortifacients. This rejection of God’s design for procreation further diminishes the value of life and treats the unborn as disposable.
  
  
• Treating Human Beings as Commodities: HB 533 reduces human life to a product to be created, manipulated, and discarded at will. This bill promotes a mindset that treats human beings as commodities rather than precious lives made in the image of God. No society can flourish while viewing its most vulnerable members as disposable property.
  
  

Our Call to Action:

We demand that our representatives reject HB 533 without hesitation and take a firm stand for the protection of innocent life. Turning a blind eye to the evil this bill promotes is not only a betrayal of justice but a complete rejection of God’s truth. Compromise with wickedness is not an option. We will speak out, we will fight, and we will not stand by while evil is celebrated, and righteousness is condemned (Isaiah 5:20).

May our leaders have the courage to be a voice for the voiceless, loving our tiniest preborn neighbors, and uphold God’s perfect design for family and creation.
