The Issue

The Haudenosaunee want to play lacrosse at the 2028 Summer Olympics, but the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee) says that if they let the Haudenosaunee play, then it will set a precedent that will allow other tribes to field Olympic teams. However, this is a different case since the Haudenosaunee are the creators of the game of lacrosse and have been playing it for nearly 1,000 years.  If it’s going to be included, the least that can be done is to let them play under their own flag and not force them to join either the American or Canadian teams. Why would they want to play with the people who took their land? That took their sport? Who broke treaties with them? Why?

Please consider allowing the Haudensonaunee to have their own teams play in the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Sincerely,
Judah Kamstra, age 9
