PETITION TO KEEP THE CHILDREN’S THEATER PROGRAM OPEN

The Issue

Dear City Officials,

We are writing as parents and residents of Sunny Isles Beach to express our strong opposition to the proposed closure of the Children’s Theater Program at the community center.

This program has had a meaningful impact on our children's development—socially, emotionally, and creatively. It is one of the few local programs where children can express themselves through performance, gain confidence, and experience the joy of working as a team in a safe, supportive environment.

Many of us have seen our children flourish through this program, and we are surprised and disappointed to hear that it may be discontinued.

Enclosed is a petition signed by members of our community, all of whom strongly support continuing this vital program.

We respectfully ask the City to:

1. Reconsider the closure of the program.

2. Engage with parents and the community before making a final decision.

3. Consider alternative options to preserve the class if funding or logistics are an issue.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. We look forward to working together to ensure that the arts remain accessible to the children of Sunny Isles Beach.
