Petition to Support the Continued Operation of Believe School

We, the undersigned families, students, staff, and community members, respectfully petition the Believe Board to keep Believe School open and continue investing in its improvement rather than pursuing closure or replacement.

We acknowledge and understand that Believe School is currently listed as a Priority School on the 2025 State Priority List and designated as a TVAAS Level 2 school. We agree that student outcomes must improve, and we share the belief that our students deserve better. However, we firmly believe that improvement is best achieved through support, partnership, and accountability — not disruption.

Believe School is more than a building; it is a community. Closing or fundamentally altering the school would disrupt students’ academic progress, emotional well-being, and sense of stability. Many of our children thrive because of the relationships they have built with teachers, staff, and peers — relationships that cannot be easily replaced.

We support exploring strategic partnerships that strengthen instruction, leadership, and student outcomes. If collaboration with organizations such as Memphis Grizzlies Preparatory Charter School can bring proven practices, professional development, or targeted supports, we ask that these options be pursued while keeping Believe School open and accessible to all students, without displacement.

We respectfully request that the Board:

Commit to keeping Believe School open

Engage families as active partners in the improvement process

Invest in evidence-based academic and social-emotional supports

Establish clear, transparent benchmarks for growth and accountability

Prioritize stability for students while improvement efforts are underway

Our families are ready to work alongside school leadership and the Board to ensure Believe School becomes the high-performing, supportive environment our students deserve.

Our children are worth the investment. Our community deserves the opportunity to grow.
