Petition to Jerry Jones: Step Down as General Manager of the Dallas Cowboys

The Issue

To: Jerry Jones, Owner of the Dallas Cowboys

From: Concerned Fans of the Dallas Cowboys

We, the undersigned fans of the Dallas Cowboys, are united in our deep concern for the current state of our beloved franchise. While we recognize and respect your decades-long dedication to the team, it is clear that changes are urgently needed in order to restore the Cowboys to their rightful place as an NFL powerhouse.

Over the years, the decisions made in your capacity as General Manager have resulted in missed opportunities, misguided strategies, and a decline in performance that has left our once-proud franchise as the subject of ridicule across the league. These concerns include but are not limited to:

 1. Questionable Coaching Decisions: The decision to promote Brian Schottenheimer, a coach with limited success, reflects a lack of ambition and forward-thinking strategy that this team desperately needs.

 2. Neglect in Free Agency: Failing to sign impactful free agents has left the Cowboys at a disadvantage while our competitors continue to strengthen their rosters.

 3. Accepting Mediocrity: Your willingness to accept losing seasons as “part of the process” has alienated a loyal fanbase that demands and deserves better.

 4. Declining Leadership: At 82 years old, we are concerned that age may be affecting your ability to make sound, rational decisions in the best interest of the team.

It is evident that the role of General Manager requires a fresh perspective, innovative thinking, and an unrelenting commitment to building a championship-caliber team. We believe it is time for you to relinquish your role as General Manager and allow someone with the appropriate expertise, experience, and vision to take the reins.

This decision would not only reflect a selfless act of putting the team above personal pride but would also signal to fans, players, and the entire NFL that the Dallas Cowboys are serious about reclaiming their place among the league’s elite.

We urge you to consider this petition as a wake-up call from the fans who have supported this team through thick and thin. The time for change is now.

Sincerely,

RD & Cowboys Nation
