Pendle council has sent an email in response to our petition. Here is the reply:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good morning
Thankyou for your letter received regarding issues in the park, it is saddening to hear of these events happening within the Walverden area.
Over the winter period we are planning on opening up some areas of the lower park to create some more open sightlines and less 'hidden' areas to try and reduce antisocial behaviour , in a place like walverden which is primarily woodland, it is impossible to reduce it completely.
As good practice, if you and any other members of the community can identify times/dates/descriptions of any characters or dogs that are potentially being antisocial please let us know and/or the police on 101 so that we can try and target resources most efficiently. If you feel an incident of animal harm is taking place immediately then please call 999
I have forwarded it onto our community protection officer to liase with the police this morning and will let you know the response when received.
Best Regards
