Since this petition was launched, FOX 13 Seattle has published new reporting based on Seattle Public Schools' completed Human Resources investigation. According to the district's findings, investigators concluded it was "more likely than not" that SEA President Ibijoke Idowu-Holiday physically harmed multiple students, including grabbing one student hard enough to leave bruising and throwing a hardcover book that struck another child. The report also includes witness statements describing repeated yelling, physical interactions, and students appearing fearful in the classroom. Seattle Public Schools has stated that the matter remains in the personnel process, and no criminal charges have been filed.

This petition is not about bypassing due process. It is about allowing SEA members to decide whether they continue to have confidence in our union's elected leadership. The SEA bylaws provide a democratic recall process for exactly these circumstances.
