The Issue

We, the undersigned, are concerned residents who urge city and county officials to take immediate action by increasing the fines and penalties for the illegal use, possession, and sale of fireworks.

Why This Matters:

Fireworks are dangerous and cause fires, injuries, and property damage every year.
The loud explosions are traumatizing for veterans, terrifying to pets, and harmful to children, the elderly, and individuals with sensory sensitivities, such as those with autism.
Illegal fireworks disrupt sleep, increase anxiety, and decrease the overall quality of life in our neighborhoods.

What We’re Asking:

We call on local leaders to pass legislation that:Increases fines to $800 for a first offense, $2,000 for a second offense, and $3,500 for any additional offenses.

Enforces penalties consistently and actively.
Uses collected fines to fund public safety, animal services, and mental health programs.

Together, we can restore peace and safety in our communities.

Sign this petition if you believe it’s time to hold people accountable for dangerous and disruptive firework use.
