The Women’s World Cup has ignited a love of football in Australia for all ages and genders and spawned a new wave of fandom for the Matildas.

The next step for the Matilda is Round 2 of the Women's Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers, in which the Tillies will play three games to be held at HBF Park, one of Perth’s least attractive stadiums for sporting events.

This venue is severely under capacity for the level of excitement and passion Perth has for this team (max 20,000 people compared to Optus Stadium’s 60,000) and as a resultC tickets for the Matildas games are already sold out. 

This means 40,000 people in Perth will miss out per game. This is particularly upsetting as none of the Matildas’ games in the Women’s World Cup were played in Perth.
