Exciting Progress on the Estella A. Wheeler Park Renaming

Update: June 18, 2026

On behalf of the family, here is a quick update on where things stand with the park renaming.

We've been working with City staff and planners over the past while, and I've just received confirmation that the staff report is now underway and is expected to be ready for the July 7 North York Community Council meeting. The meeting agenda should be posted on June 24.

Another exciting update is that the proposed park site pending approval will be renamed to Estella A. Wheeler  Park. The park is located at 44 Streamdale Court, North York, near the Africentric Alternative School.

This is another important step forward in the process. We'll continue to keep everyone updated as things move along and as we receive more information.

Best,
