The Issue

This is a Formal Request for a Papal Presidential Summit on World Peace, the Defense of Western Civilization and the Preservation of Christendom. To His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, and President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

We the People of the United States and members of the global community, respectfully submit this petition to urge a formal meeting between the Holy See and the President of the United States. As we navigate the complexities of 2026, global peace and security, the foundational values of Western Civilization and the enduring heritage of Christendom face unprecedented challenges. We believe that a collaborative dialogue between the world’s most influential spiritual leader and the leader of the world’s foremost temporal power is not only timely but essential for the stability and moral clarity of our age. This meeting is needed now more than ever and sooner rather than later.

Objectives of the Proposed Summit

  • World Peace: To seek common ground on diplomatic resolutions to ongoing global conflicts, particularly in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, where the human cost continues to mount.
  • Preservation of Western Civilization: To discuss the protection of the cultural, legal, and social frameworks that have defined Western Civilization, rooted in the synthesis of faith and reason.
  • Defense of Religious Liberty: To address the rising threats to religious practice and conscience worldwide, ensuring that the rights of believers to live out their faith remain inviolable.
  • Protection of the Family: To reaffirm the central role of the family unit as the bedrock of a stable society and to discuss policies that support and strengthen domestic life.
  • Moral Leadership in Technology: To address the ethical implications of emerging technologies in AI and ensure they are used to serve human dignity rather than diminish it.

The Rationale for Immediate Dialogue

Despite the recent public tensions regarding foreign policy, we believe that the "American Connection" and the shared commitment to the well-being of the American people provide a unique foundation. The presence of a significant Catholic delegation within the current U.S. Cabinet serves as a natural bridge for this historic endeavor.

History has shown that when the Vatican and the United States move in concert, the world moves toward greater freedom and security. Take for example the relationship between Pope John Paul II and President Ronald Reagan, this friendship changed the world and tore down walls! We ask that you set aside any differences to focus on the higher calling of protecting the spiritual and civilizational legacy that we all inherit as Americans and Christians.

We call upon both leaders to schedule a summit at the earliest possible date, whether it be in the walls of Vatican City or at a symbolic location in the United State (perhaps the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC) to signal a renewed commitment to the defense of our shared values and global peace.
