Petition to Have Mitch McConnell Recused from the Impeachment Trial

0 have signed. Let’s get to 150,000!

The Senate Impeachment Rules dated March 2nd, 1868 will require Senators to take the following pledge in order to conduct the Senate Impeachment Trial of Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America:

"I solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be,) that in all things appertaining to the trial of the impeachment of Donald J. Trump, now pending, I will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws: so help me God."

On Thursday, December 12, 2019, Senator Mitch McConnell went on Fox News and during an interview with Sean Hannity, the Majority Leader said that “everything” he does “during this, I’m coordinating with the White House counsel. There will be no difference between the president’s position and our position as to how to handle this, to the extent that we can.”

Mitch McConnell cannot, in good faith, take the above referenced oath. He is unqualified to serve as an impartial juror in this trial. He has already stated he will not be impartial. He should be recused.

Please sign this petition and let Mitch McConnell know that some Americans still care about the constitution and the laws we derive from it, even if Mitch McConnell does not.
