I am a resident of Northwest Sydney, sharing the anticipatory excitement of our community as we watch the planned development of Rouse Hill Hospital. As a yet to be unveiled state-of-the-art facility, it is expected to provide much-needed healthcare services to our rapidly expanding population.

The Rouse hill Hospital website states that “It will be part of the Western Sydney Local Health District which is responsible for managing public healthcare across 120 suburbs, spanning 780 kilometres across Blacktown, The Hills Shire, Cumberland and Parramatta. Rouse Hill Hospital will become part of a leading network of health services which provide comprehensive integrated care and community-based services. “

However, the lack of a birthing suite in the plan deeply disappoints not only me but all families in our community.

According to recent reports, the demographic growth in Northwest Sydney predicts an increase in newborns, highlighting the importance of a birthing suite in our new hospital (source:Daily Telegraph Article)

Understanding the importance of proximity and accessible maternity services to expectant mothers and families, we urge the Health Minister of NSW to reconsider the design plan to include a birthing suite at Rouse Hill Hospital.

Please sign this petition to support our cause and bring about a change for our community.
