The proposed Yntegra and Rosewood Hotels development on Sampson Cay represents the most aggressive seabed dredging proposal in Exuma’s history. To build their service dock in the North Bay and allow commercial supply ships to access it, Yntegra plans to rip up unprecedented amounts of seabed, destroying healthy seagrass meadows, coral reefs, and vital nurseries for conch and fish. Take a look at this live cam and see the beauty of the North Bay yourself.

The dense seagrass beds around Sampson Cay are rich, living ecosystems. They are critical habitats for threatened species like sea turtles and Nassau grouper, and serve as essential nursery grounds for the iconic Queen Conch, one of the most important marine species Bahamian communities rely on.

We cannot allow this unnecessary and destructive project to wipe out habitats that took decades to form and flourish.

Seagrass sustains our fisheries, protects our shorelines, and plays a major role in fighting climate change. It captures carbon up to 35 times more efficiently than the Amazon rainforest, making it one of our most valuable natural assets.

Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis has told the world that The Bahamas will protect its seagrass. Now is his time to prove it.

Stand with us. Keep sharing this petition and asking others to sign. Together, we can save Sampson Cay.
