It is a scientific fact that children require snacks to get through the day. Small snacks throughout the day are helping factors in preventing obesity and keeping blood sugar at a normal level. Diabetes and pre diabetes are both common and cause struggle in teens and youth. Myself and many others at Mountain West suffer from hypoglycemia, which affects your blood sugar and can be treated with medication and occasional snacks. I propose investing in a school vending machine. Students can purchase snacks from the machine and therefore raise more money for the school, which we can put into school trips, activities, and general school maintenance. Not only does the occasional snack help with blood sugar, but certain foods can help with brain function and be something to keep kids working hard until lunch.
