We, the undersigned, call on First Bus Leeds to maintain at least one bus per hour in each direction of the diversion route for the 50/50A service via Kirkstall Hill, Kirkstall lane, Abbey Road, and Abbey Walk following the reopening of Morris Lane in Leeds.

During the closure of Morris Lane, the temporary diversion of the 50/50A bus route provided a vital link for residents, especially the elderly, disabled, and those without access to private transport, by improving access to:
 • Morrisons supermarket
 • Kirkstall Retail Park
 • Local GP surgeries, pharmacies, and community facilities
 • Connecting routes into Leeds city centre

For many people in Kirkstall, this service has been a lifeline, ensuring they can reach essential shops, healthcare, and social spaces independently. Removing this route would:
 • Isolate vulnerable residents
 • Make it harder for people to access affordable food and key services
 • Reduce sustainable travel options, forcing greater reliance on cars or costly taxis

We believe that public transport should serve the needs of the community. By maintaining at least one bus per hour in each direction via the diversion route, First Bus Leeds can ensure equal access, reduce social isolation, and support a greener, more connected Kirkstall.

We urge First Bus Leeds and local transport authorities to work together to secure a permanent solution that keeps this essential service available to everyone who depends on it.
