Thank you to all of you across the world - the petition now has 500 supporters, half way to my goal of 1,000 to send to FIFA. You have all shown you care about this issue by signing, and I would really appreciate your support in spreading the word - if everyone can find one more person to sign, we will reach the target together, and much quicker than I can manage on my own. Please do post the petition link to your contacts on Facebook and also by email, thank you. Although 1,000 signatures is the target, there is no point sending this to FIFA until everything has settled down with a new President and a new outlook. In any case the petition will remain in place until we see some positive action. Diving causes controversy every week, and change is long overdue to cut it out. Ashley Young is much maligned, but he is part of a generation of players brought up with this as the norm - I think it has become so instinctive for him to dive in certain situations that he cannot stop himself. Change is needed to improve things now, but also to give a clear message to coaches and the next generation that diving (cheating) is not acceptable and ruins the game that we all love to watch or play. Best wishes to all for a very happy New Year! Jim Barker - @desmond58
