The Issue

To the Clover School District Board of Trustees and Administration:

We, the undersigned, respectfully request the consideration and implementation of a Student Sports Pass for Clover School District students beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.

We propose the pass would cost $25 per student and would provide admission to all Clover School District home sporting events (middle and high school) for the school year in which it is purchased.

The pass would exclude playoff and championship games.  It would apply to all district sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball,  and others.

Benefits of a Student Sports Pass

1. Increased Attendance Across All Sports

Many sports currently experience lower attendance compared to football. With a Student Sports Pass, more students would be encouraged to attend a variety of games, supporting their peers across multiple sports.

2. District-Wide Unity During Expansion

With Clover School District opening three new schools in the coming year—including a new high school in Lake Wylie—students who have grown up together but now attend different schools would still be able to support one another. This pass would help maintain friendships and foster unity across the district.

3. Boost in Concession Sales

Student attendance would likely lead to increased concession revenue at events that typically have smaller crowds. This would benefit booster clubs, athletic departments, and extracurricular programs while building stronger school spirit.

4. Encouragement of Family Attendance

Students with a pass are more likely to encourage their parents and siblings to attend games with them. Parents would still pay regular ticket admission, resulting in additional revenue for the district.

Why the proposed cost of $25?

Many neighboring districts have already adopted similar student sports passes, often at a higher price point than what is being proposed here. By offering the pass at a reduced rate of $25, Clover School District would provide an affordable option for families while still encouraging strong attendance and school spirit. This proposal not only supports students and families in our area but also reflects Clover’s reputation as “the town with Love in the middle,” by giving back to its students and strengthening the bonds of community pride.

This initiative would:

  • Promote equity by making sporting events more affordable and accessible to all students.
  • Strengthen the sense of belonging, pride, and tradition in Clover School District.
  • • Provide a positive, safe outlet for student socialization and community building.

Our Request

We respectfully urge Clover School District to establish a $25 Student Sports Pass beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, giving students unlimited access to regular-season home games across all Clover middle and high schools.

We believe this step will:

  • Increase attendance
  • Enhance student unity and school spirit
  • Support athletic and concession revenue
  • Build community pride

Sincerely, The Undersigned
