The Issue
For North Korean refugees who obtained freedom, this petition holds profound significance. We are survivors and witnesses to the indescribable hardships endured under the oppressive North Korean regime. We propose the establishment of a memorial space to honor and commemorate the countless nameless victims who perished under the North Korean regime.
This memorial aims to pay tribute to the millions of victims. They are not just mere numbers. They are our mothers, fathers, siblings, friends, and countless victims of brutal crimes.
The establishment of this memorial will serve as a constant reminder of their sacrifice and struggle. It will serve as a place for reflection and education on human rights abuses in North Korea, and it will serve as a lasting symbol of resistance against oppression and tyranny wherever it may occur.

자유를 찾은 북한 난민들에게는 이 청원서가 매우 깊은 의미를 가집니다. 우리는 폭압적이고 억압적인 북한 정권 하에서 형언할 수 없는 어려움을 겪은 생존자이자 목격자입니다. 우리는 북한 정권 하에서 숨진 이름 없는 희생자들을 기리고 추모하기 위한 기념공간을 설립하는 것을 제안합니다.
이 기념비는 수백만명에 달하는 희생자들을 추모하기 위한 것입니다. 이들은 단순한 숫자가 아닙니다. 이들은 우리의 어머니, 아버지, 형제, 자매, 친구들이며 수없이 많은 잔인한 범죄의 피해자들입니다.
이 기념비의 설립은 그들의 희생과 투쟁을 항상 상기시킬 것입니다. 또한 북한의 인권 침해에 대한 반성과 교육을 위한 장소로 기능할 것이며, 어디서나 탄압과 폭정에 항거하는 영구한 상징이 될 것입니다.
이 청원에 서명함으로써, 우리가 하는 활동에 지지와 성원을 해주시기를 간곡히 부탁드립니다. 이를 통해 침묵으로 묻혀진 이들의 영혼을 달래고 기억하도록 하겠습니다.
