🛑 PETITION TO DECONGEST INNER RING ROAD (INDIRANAGAR – KORAMANGALA) | LET’S GET OUR TIME BACK 🛑

Dear Fellow Citizens and Daily Commuters,

If you commute between Indiranagar and Koramangala, especially during peak office hours (8–9 AM and 5–7 PM), you already know the frustration of getting stuck in standstill traffic on the 2.2 KM stretch of Inner Ring Road.

Despite infrastructure projects like the Ejipura flyover finally being completed, this short stretch continues to cause daily traffic nightmares.

 
🚦 What’s the Problem?
This stretch bottlenecks thousands of vehicles every single day, contributing to:

🚗 Lost Productive Hours
🏠 Disrupted Work-Life Balance
⛽ Increased Fuel Costs & Pollution
📉 Reduced Economic Efficiency
According to the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), India loses $22 billion annually due to traffic congestion. Just this stretch alone is a huge contributor in Bengaluru.

And it’s only getting worse. As the city grows rapidly, we need to act before this becomes irreversible.

 
🕒 What Can Be Gained?
With targeted action to widen the road by just 100–150 feet, this stretch can save over 5,000 hours per commuter in the long run — by reducing daily delays and allowing smoother flow even post-Ejipura flyover.

That’s years of cumulative time saved for families, workers, students, and emergency responders.

 
🛣️ What We’re Requesting:
We urge the BBMP to coordinate with the Ministry of Defence to evaluate the adjacent unused defence land under the official land transfer policy, to:

Expand this critical 2.2 KM Inner Ring Road
Add service lanes or traffic smart features
Enhance road safety and flow for all users
