PETITION TO EALING COUNCIL TAKE URGENT AND DECISIVE ACTION AGAINST FLYTIPPING IN SOUTHALL

PETITION TO EALING COUNCIL TAKE URGENT AND DECISIVE ACTION AGAINST FLYTIPPING IN SOUTHALL
The Issue
We, the undersigned, are fed up with the disgraceful and ongoing problem of fly-tipping on the streets of Southall — and the lack of serious, effective action from Ealing Council to stop it.
Piles of dumped rubbish, mattresses, broken furniture, and bags of waste are becoming a regular sight in our neighbourhoods. It’s not just ugly — it’s a health hazard. It attracts rats, spreads disease, and creates an environment where people feel neglected and unsafe. Residents have reported the same spots over and over again, but the problem continues. Southall is not a dumping ground.
Ealing Council’s current approach is clearly failing. We demand more than lip service — we demand real, visible change. As council tax payers and members of the Southall community, we insist the council take immediate action, including:
1. A major crackdown on offenders, including regular fines, naming and shaming repeat culprits, and publicising prosecutions;
2. Installation of permanent CCTV and clear signage in all fly-tipping hotspots, with footage reviewed and acted on regularly;
3. A substantial increase in street cleaning and waste removal, especially in areas that have been ignored or left to rot;
4. Easier and more accessible legal waste disposal options, especially for bulk and business waste;
5. A real public campaign, not a token gesture — to educate, inform, and engage the community in protecting where we live
6-we need an increase in checking waste disposal contracts held by businesses and issuing FPNS for non compliance .
7- HMOs are linked to the issue licences need to be checked on a regular basis and premises checked any unlicensed to shut down fines issue criminal record issued
Southall residents are tired of being ignored. Tired of walking past filth. Tired of excuses. Other parts of the borough are kept clean — why not Southall?
We demand Ealing Council treat this issue with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. CLEAN UP IT UP
Please sign every signature counts 1500 signatures is the target I know we can get there thank you .
Your support means everything—but we urgently need more signatures from the people who are most affected by this disgrace: residents of Southall, especially those in UB1 and UB2.
also there is meeting coming up locally to discuss the issues mentioned and find a way forward of dealing with the problem .
