We, the undersigned, are family members, friends, and community members standing together for justice for Kafo Setaleki Tuha, who was tragically taken from us by the actions of Samuel Renard Jones.

This crime has caused immeasurable pain—not only to Kafo’s family, but to all who knew and loved him. We strongly believe that releasing Samuel Renard Jones back into society would pose a grave danger to the community.

According to official Tarrant County court records, Samuel Renard Jones, the man arrested for Kafo’s murder, has a documented history of serious felony offenses that demonstrate he is a danger to society:

• He is charged with the shooting death of Kafo Setaleki Tuha and Assault with a deadly weapon.
• He has previously been convicted of or involved in multiple felony cases, including:
• Deadly conduct / discharge of a firearm (2006)
• Engaging in organized criminal activity (2006)
• Possession of controlled substances and marijuana (2006)
•  He was only recently released on parole.
• Within months of release, he was reportedly involved in a violent incident at a club.
• Despite this history, he has been granted a $750,000 and $100,000 bond for both charges, which could allow him to return to the community.

His actions show a consistent pattern of disregard for human life and the law, posing an unacceptable risk to public safety. Releasing an individual with this history not only dishonors the life of Kafo but also endangers the community at large. Our community deserves safety, peace, and justice.

For these reasons, we respectfully urge the Court to deny any possibility of his release on bond.

Kafo’s life mattered, and our community deserves protection from ongoing harm and trauma.
