Each year, coal mining and it’s use for energy purposes pumps immeasurable amounts of pollution into our planet and atmosphere alike, causing severe environmental and health problems. Although North Carolina no longer posses active coal mines, coal is still used as an energy source all over the state and is still a very prevalent issue, with coal ash and other major pollutants causing major damage. I feel that if we get enough signatures to back this cause, we will start to see positive change in how the state of North Carolina views the coal industry and how our government tailors it’s legislation regarding such issues. Every signature counts and is greatly appreciated.
