Petition to Declare June 4, 2025, as a One-Time State Holiday & June 3rd as RCB Day (Optional Holiday) [Both subject to RCB Winning the IPL]

One of the most cherished icons to emerge from Karnataka in recent decades is the red-and-gold team that has united crores across all backgrounds—Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Founded in 2008 and supported passionately for 18 years by proud Kannadigas and fellow Indians, RCB has become more than just a cricket team—it has grown into a symbol of resilience, loyalty, courage, and an undying spirit.

RCB’s journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been one of remarkable highs and painful lows. From record-setting totals and partnerships to heartbreaking defeats, from leading the points table to finishing at the bottom, RCB has lived every shade of competition—and its fans have stood by the team through it all. This loyalty is unmatched.

The 2025 IPL season was a testament to this legacy. From becoming the first team in IPL history to win all away matches, to having nine different ‘Player of the Match’ awardees in one season, RCB exemplified team spirit, versatility, and determination. Their historic run, especially a dramatic turnaround from the bottom of the table to qualifying for the playoffs by winning six consecutive must-win matches, reflects the kind of never-give-up attitude we should all aspire to in life.

RCB fans don’t cheer only for victories; they cheer for values. The values of “Play Bold” resonate with every fan—not just in Karnataka but across the world. And despite not winning a title until now, RCB has remained the most-followed IPL team on Instagram (over 2 crore fans), proving that the team's impact goes far beyond the trophy cabinet.

It is in this spirit that we, the undersigned, respectfully request:

     To declare lesson June 3rd as “RCB Day” every year – An optional       state holiday for fans to commemorate the journey, emotions, and       lessons of RCB’s remarkable legacy.

     To declare June 4, 2025, as a one-time statewide holiday, should     RCB  lift the IPL trophy on June 3rd, 2025. This would allow fans     across Karnataka to celebrate this historic occasion together.

This is not merely a celebration of a sports team but of 18 years of emotion, dedication, and the spirit of Karnataka. Declaring an RCB Day would honour the fans who have kept their faith alive through all seasons and recognize the team as a cultural symbol of our state.

We urge you to consider this heartfelt appeal from lakhs of devoted fans who believe that RCB's story is worth celebrating—not just for its cricket, but for what it stands for.
