The Aboite Fire Department, in an effort to improve service and safety to the community it serves, wishes to create the Aboite Fire District.  Formation of this fire district will allow for a substantial increase in personnel on duty to respond to Aboite Township citizens experiencing an emergency.  

Current Services: One 24/7 ambulance & two weekday daytime firefighters       Nights and weekends entirely volunteer

Proposed fire district services: Two 24/7 ambulances, Four 24/7 firefighters,        Two weekday daytime firefighters

This new fire protection district will be paid for with a net property tax increase of $0.1196 per $100 of the net assessed value.  So, if your home has a net assessed value of $300,000 you will have an annual tax increase of approximately $360 (less than $1/day for around the clock fire and ambulance protection).

Nobody likes tax increases, but this tax money will save lives and property.  With on-duty firefighters we can be on the scene of an emergency within four minutes of the 911 call. 

We are asking residents of Aboite Township who reside outside of the Fort Wayne city limits to sign our petition of support.
