PETITION TO CONGRESS TO INITIATE IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDING AGAINST MEMBERS OF THE TRUMP ADMIN
The Issue
To: The United States House of Representatives
CC: The United States Senate
From: Citizens of the United States Concerned with the Preservation of Constitutional Democracy Date: July 4, 2025
Subject: Demand for Immediate Congressional Investigation and Potential Impeachment of Executive Cabinet Officials Appointed Under President Donald J. Trump
Preamble
We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, in accordance with our constitutional right to petition the government for redress of grievances, formally call upon the United States Congress to investigate and, if warranted, initiate impeachment proceedings against members of President Donald J. Trump's cabinet. We submit this petition out of deep concern for the integrity of American institutions, the rule of law, and the preservation of democratic norms.
I. Grounds for Concern
1. Abuse of Office and Obstruction of Democratic Processes
Numerous Trump administration officials have demonstrated patterns of behavior that raise serious concerns about abuses of power. In prior administrations, and continuing into this one, some cabinet members have been involved in activities that arguably obstruct oversight, silence dissent, or undermine democratic checks and balances.
2. Ethical Violations and Conflicts of Interest
Several officials face allegations of using public office for personal gain, circumventing ethics regulations, or maintaining undisclosed ties to private business interests. Such conflicts erode public trust and may constitute impeachable misconduct under the 'high crimes and misdemeanors' standard.
3. Undermining of the Rule of Law
Reports of selective enforcement of laws, interference with federal investigations, and retaliation against whistleblowers raise grave constitutional concerns. Cabinet members have a duty to uphold the law impartially, and any deliberate failure to do so warrants scrutiny and possible removal.
4. Mismanagement and Dereliction of Duty
In areas including public health, environmental protection, national security, and civil rights, various departments have suffered from disorganized leadership and partisan interference. Such mismanagement can jeopardize public safety and national interests.
II. Constitutional Justification
Article II, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution provides that 'The President, Vice President, and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of,
Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.' Members of the President's Cabinet are 'civil officers' and are thus subject to this provision.
III. Demands
We hereby request that the United States Congress:
1. Launch immediate investigations into the conduct and qualifications of current Trump-appointed cabinet officials;
2. Hold public hearings to assess allegations of abuse of power, ethical misconduct, and dereliction of constitutional duty;
3. Draft and vote on articles of impeachment for any cabinet member found to have engaged in behavior that meets the constitutional threshold for removal;
4. Enact reforms to ensure future transparency and accountability within the Executive Branch.
IV. Conclusion
The stability of the Republic depends on the accountability of those who hold power. No individual, regardless of title, is above the Constitution. We urge Congress to act in defense of American democracy by initiating a rigorous, lawful, and transparent review of the Trump cabinet.
Respectfully Submitted,
