The American University of Rome has always offered a sixth free class to sign up for if you receive the required minimum GPA of 3.5. This allows high-achieving students to finish their degrees earlier when needed for personal, professional, or financial reasons. As of recently, AUR has removed the offer for a sixth free class, which affects the students that want to graduate early. With the cost of attendance being raised by 500 euros every semester, to some attending AUR for the full 4 years might become impossible.

Bringing back the 6th course would provide students more flexibility and reward those with strong academic performance. This would not be for everyone, but rather an incentive for those showing high academic achievement.

Some of the possible ways to fix the issue could be:

• Bring back the 6th free class for students with a 3.5 GPA, as it was before.
• Bring up the minimum required GPA to a 3.7 to keep it as an incentive for exceptional students.

Restoring this would give students better financial and academic options while keeping the focus on achievement. For those struggling with tuition costs, taking a sixth course could make finishing their education at AUR possible.
