I have never organized a petition, and I have always moved through life peacefully among others. But on YouTube I have experienced a form of harassment and “bullying” that I did not know was possible, at least among adults and outside of prison.

I have the misfortune of saying I have outlived my child. She was plagued by addiction, and as a result, lost her life early. This was not a result of my lack of involvement or effort in trying to get her help. To the contrary… However, I am blessed to have her two children with me, and I am raising them. I have been part of a YouTube community, which I looked to as a source of friendship and support.

A member of this community, Survivor Girl 2019, AKA “SG” has chosen to focus on my and my daughter’s story as fodder for her own live stream content. She has spoken about my daughter and me countless times in her live streams, saying I was responsible for her death, etc. By her own description, she has a “commentary” channel, which is a sanitized term she uses to describe essentially playing others’ content and endlessly critiquing, name-calling, and mocking others’ illnesses and addictions. She is well-known to others in the community and frequently calls others sexual predators, freaks of nature, and Nazis (without cause) to only give a few examples. She has wished death upon others, specifically by cancer, and she has made fun of another cancer survivor’s surgery scars.

Ironically, SG claims she is a cancer survivor. Additionally, over the last couple of years, she has received thousands of dollars through donations from these same community members. However, she states that she has been “cancer bullied” herself, and this is the reason she behaves as she does today. Other individuals have taken offense and spoken out against her, only after they have been aggressed upon by her. As she says, “steel sharpens steel,” and she feels it is her mission to somehow eliminate online bullying through her current behavior. She compares herself to political leaders, as well as murdered Jewish people, and says she is doing the work of God. Her typical daily live streams are multiple hours long (some even 14 or 15 hours).

I can only assume that this person has significant mental health issues, and my purpose with this petition is not to make anyone’s life more difficult. However, her constant behavior on YouTube has created an environment that is toxic and unsafe for other members. She patrols other live streams in the community and anyone who says something that displeases her is vulnerable to being one of her next subjects in a commentary. She openly threatens individuals to behave or speak a certain way or they’re “done.” At this point, it is impossible to tell if she has no insight regarding her own behavior, or if this is her “schtick.”

I am asking YouTube to pay attention to this serious problem and to adhere to its own policies regarding bullying and harassment.

It is my hope that the members of our YouTube community can go online without the fear of being harassed, bullied, and suicide-trolled by this woman. She is doing real emotional damage to people using this forum. I am afraid that someone is going to hurt themselves due to this relentless bullying if this problem continues. People should be able to come to YouTube to enjoy their experience without being attacked by someone who has a self-serving and malicious agenda.
