Dear Members of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe,

We are calling for immediate action to restrict the operations of Platform X (formerly Twitter) within the European Union due to its negative impact on democracy and its role in spreading disinformation.

Under the leadership of Elon Musk, Platform X has become a tool for manipulating public opinion and a platform that supports far-right, anti-democratic, and racist movements, including groups openly advocating for fascist ideologies. This platform not only tolerates hate speech, but amplifies its reach, influencing public sentiment in EU member states.

The presence of such a platform within the EU:

 • Threatens the integrity of the European Union – supporting extremist movements that aim to destabilize member states.
 • Acts as a tool for disinformation and propaganda – exploited by foreign powers, including Russia, to weaken European democracies.
 • Enables extremist groups to gain political influence, raising the risk of democratic regression in Europe.

We urge:

 1. The European Parliament to consider regulating or restricting Platform X in the EU, should the platform continue to pose a threat to democracy and social order.
 2. The Council of Europe to initiate a debate regarding Platform X’s impact on democratic processes in Europe and to call on member states to take protective measures.

We cannot allow a platform with such far-reaching influence to become a tool for undermining the European Union and strengthening extremism and authoritarian regimes. In the name of European values – democracy, the rule of law, and human rights – we urge you to act now.
