Dear New Zealand & New Zealand government

We, the undersigned, express our deep concern for the well-being of animals in New Zealand due to the use and sales of fireworks. Fireworks can cause significant distress, harm, and even injuries to pets, wildlife, and livestock.

Numerous reports and studies highlight the adverse effects of fireworks on animals, ranging from heightened anxiety and stress in domestic pets to severe disruptions in the behavior and habitats of wildlife. The loud noises and bright lights associated with fireworks can lead to panic, injuries, and long-lasting trauma for animals that are unable to comprehend or escape the sudden and overwhelming stimulating effects

In consideration of the welfare of our fellow living beings, we urge the New Zealand Government to take immediate action in implementing regulations or, ideally, a complete ban on the use and sales of fireworks in New Zealand.
Such a measure would not only safeguard the animals but also promote a more compassionate and responsible approach to celebrating events.

We call upon the government of New Zealand to prioritize the protection of our beloved pets, cherished wildlife, and essential livestock by acknowledging the harmful impact of fireworks on their well-being.

Please join us in ensuring a safer and more compassionate environment for animals in New Zealand by supporting this petition.

Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our fellow beings who share this beautiful land with us.

Sincerely,

[Peysha B]
