India is going through a pandemic crisis of alarming proportions and the country is recording over 3 lakh covid positive cases almost daily. The collapse of the healthcare system because of the pandemic has been for the world to see. 

Amidst this huge crisis, a ray of hope for the Indians would be if all the people who have recovered from COVID-19 and are eligible, come forward to donate blood plasma to the patients in need. Blood donated by people who've recovered from COVID-19 has antibodies to the virus that causes it. The donated blood is processed to remove blood cells, leaving behind liquid (plasma) and antibodies. These can be given to people with COVID-19 to boost their ability to fight the virus.

However, currently, there is a gap between the donors and receivers because people cannot avail of this treatment. We saw many posts/stories from influencers on Instagram, Facebook, etc. where a person has mentioned the need for plasma for their relative/friend.

To spread the awareness of blood plasma transmission and fill the gap between the donors and the receivers, I strongly urge the leading dating apps like Tinder, OkCupid, Hinge, etc. to add a COVID section into their apps where the eligible people are required to share their blood group, date of diagnosis and location. This will help the concerned people connect without, any hassle and likely increase the speed of recovery among the affected people.
