There is an opioid crisis in the United States. In Osceola County alone, there were 72 opioid induced deaths in 2024, according to www.flhealthcharts.gov These deaths can be avoided via. naloxone administration, in Osceola County 743 doses of naloxone were administered in 2024. Of these, only 141 were administered before EMS arrived. The installation of Naloxone Vending Machines in Osceola Country can prevent these deaths before it's too late. Naloxone vending machines are different than regular distribution sites. They provide privacy, around the clock availability, controlled tracking to show real use data, and cost less. These machines can be regularly stocked with naloxone as well as medical essentials including fentanyl test strips, and tampons depending on the needs of a specific location.
