Petition to Abolish Reservations in National Entrance Exams

Petition to Abolish Reservations in National Entrance Exams
The Issue
A petition to convince the government to remove reservations from national entrance exams like NEET and JEE, as they benefit no one. The reservation system is long gone and it isn't required now. People have changed their mindset. Maybe it was valid in the past but now it doesn't make sense, in this modern era. Everyone should get equal opportunity and seat in medical or engineering colleges based on their merit and not based on thier family history or cast or ancestral routes. Everyone should be EQUAL. As we say this, this can only happen if reservations from national entrance exams like NEET, JEE etc are removed.
Why should a general candidate suffer all the time? And even after tons of hardwork and effort, he doesn't get a seat, only because an OBC, SC, ST cast student gets the seat, even though he scored lower than general student. There's no need for reservations in admission to colleges. It defines our career and future and has been unfair since the beginning. I'm shocked no one has ever raised a voice against it. Please stand with us and consider changing the constitution for good. No other country has such and so many reservations for no reason at all. Its unfair and a shame to the entire education system. Modi ji wants to make India better and reformed and changed, so this is the first step. I and my fellow Indians, request PM Modiji to take a call and take the right action. For we know with reservations, both the sides suffer. If you want to hide your cast, ho will you? When your seat itself is allocated as your cast. There's just no point. Keep merit only as the badge to success and the badge to a better future for our youth.
Thank you India for standing with me on this!
Petition to Abolish Reservations in National Entrance Exams
To,
The Honorable Prime Minister of India,
Shri Narendra Modi Ji,
New Delhi.
Subject: Petition to Abolish Reservations in National Entrance Exams (NEET, JEE) for a Merit-Based Admission System
Respected Prime Minister Modi Ji,
We, the undersigned citizens of India, humbly submit this petition to bring to your attention a matter of urgent concern and request your intervention to address it. We are deeply troubled by the ongoing practice of reservations in national entrance exams such as NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and JEE (Joint Entrance Examination), which, in our opinion, no longer serve the purpose for which they were initially intended. We believe that in this modern era, it is imperative to ensure that opportunities in education are based on merit and not on caste or ancestral roots.
The reservation system was introduced to address historical injustices and provide equal opportunities to all sections of society. However, over the years, the societal mindset has evolved, and the necessity for such reservations has diminished. Today, it is essential that every student competes on an equal footing, judged solely by their hard work, talent, and merit.
Reasons for Abolishing Reservations:
1. Equal Opportunity: Every student, regardless of their background, should have an equal opportunity to secure a seat in prestigious medical and engineering colleges based on their performance in entrance exams.
2. Merit-Based System: Admissions should be determined by merit alone, ensuring that only the most capable and deserving students gain entry into these institutions. This will foster a culture of excellence and hard work.
3. Fairness to General Candidates: Many general category students, despite putting in immense effort and achieving high scores, are unable to secure seats because of the reservation system. This is inherently unfair and demoralizing.
4. Modern Society: Today's society is more progressive and inclusive. The need for reservations, which may have been justified in the past, is no longer relevant in the same way. We must move towards a system that reflects the current realities and aspirations of our youth.
5. Global Standards: No other country in the world has such extensive reservations in their education systems. India should align with global standards where admissions are primarily merit-based, ensuring our students are competitive on the world stage.
6. Unity and Equality: Removing reservations will promote unity and equality among students, as they will be evaluated solely on their academic abilities and achievements.
We acknowledge and respect the original intent behind the reservation system, but it is time to reassess and reform it to suit the needs of the present and future generations. We believe that this change will not only benefit individual students but also contribute to the overall progress and development of our nation.
We urge you, Honorable Prime Minister, to consider this petition and take the necessary steps to amend the Constitution and educational policies to abolish reservations in national entrance exams. This bold and progressive move will ensure that meritocracy prevails, and every student gets a fair chance to succeed based on their abilities.
Thank you for your attention to this critical issue. We trust in your leadership and vision for a better and reformed India.
Sincerely,
